MAGAZINES & JOURNALS

     Below are some of the magazines and journals that I've designed, redesigned and/or creative directed. For the most part, I had no involvement with writing and/or editing. Most magazines and journals will also have a digital component, if not be fully digital with only a PDF print capability.

      My approach is to develop an overall look and feel, brand standards, page templates, photo and illustration styles, and standardized styles for charts, graphs and infographics that optimizes accessibility and reader engagement. At the same time, create visuals, concepts, and treatments that capture attention and bring stories to life. 

     As with anything, magazine and journal design is driven by the industry, subject matter, editorial content, and audience demographics. Similarly, trends, styles, and creative budgets change over time.
